Expect some resolutions, a wedding and an \u2018insane\u2019 Season\n1 cliff-hanger<\/p>\n\n\n\n
By Lie Shia Ong<\/em> Fans of ABC Family\u2019s \u201cThe Lying Game\u201d have been trying to\nfigure out the mysterious plot lines on the show since the first episode aired\nlast year, and while some questions have been answered in recent episodes, Alexandra\nChando, who plays twins Sutton Mercer and Emma Becker, teases that Season 1 is\ngoing to end in quite the cliff-hanger.<\/p>\n\n\n\n For those not familiar with \u201cThe Lying Game,\u201d the story\nrevolves around long-lost twin sisters Emma and Sutton. Emma grew up in foster\ncare, moving from home to home, never finding the loving parents and family she\nlonged to have. Meanwhile, Sutton grew up in privilege, and learned to\nmanipulate things to always get what she wanted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n After the twins meet, Emma agrees to stay in Phoenix\nwhile Sutton travels to Los Angeles to try and find information about their\nbirth parents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The twins have been unsuccessful in finding their birth\nmother, but in the process, we\u2019ve watched Sutton\u2019s father, Ted, and godfather,\nAlec Rybak (who\u2019s also the father of Sutton\u2019s best friend, Mads), try to desperately\nto cover up the truth about Sutton\u2019s adoption. There have been bribes, a lot of\nlying, a murder, and now, in the season finale, Chando tells us there\u2019s going\nto be a dramatic wedding.<\/p>\n\n\n\n MSN TV: Fans still\nhave a lot of questions surrounding the show, and there\u2019s only one episode\nleft. What can you tell us about the Season 1 finale?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Alexandra Chando: I think a lot of the fans\u2019 questions\nwill be answered. There are definitely some resolutions from the whole season.\nI would say everything that\u2019s been going on with Ted and Kristin kind of comes\nto a head. There are new discoveries. Kristin kind of calls Ted out a little\nbit on what\u2019s been going on. The locket that we showed on the last episode\ncomes to play for sure. Ethan is still struggling. He tries to get [Emma] back\nand it\u2019s not that easy this time for [her]. She\u2019s having a really hard time. She\u2019s\nheartbroken. There\u2019s a wedding between Alec and Rebecca\u2014as we saw in the last\nepisode, they got engaged\u2014and a lot goes down at the wedding. [Laughs] You can\nnever have a non-dramatic wedding on television, and the cliff-hanger is\ninsane. So I think people think they know what the cliff-hanger\u2019s going to be,\nbut it\u2019s definitely going to blow their minds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n I\u2019ve heard Alec\nmight not be the bad guy that everyone things he is.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n I think we don\u2019t know who the bad guy is.<\/p>\n\n\n\n I think the writers don\u2019t even know who the bad guy is. [Laughs].\n\u2026it just keeps changing to keep it fresh, to keep it from being predictable.\nSo, I don\u2019t know. We\u2019ll see.<\/p>\n\n\n\n As a cast, do you\nknow what the future storylines will be? Or do the writers keep that pretty\nunder wraps?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n It\u2019s kept pretty under wraps. I mean, we get the scripts\nfor the next episode that we\u2019ll shoot like a week or two in advance. We can\nalways try to pry it out of the writers, and sometimes they\u2019ll give a little\nhint, but for the most part we don\u2019t know anything.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Poor Thayer has\nbeen so good to both Sutton and Emma. Is he ever going to get a nice girl, a\nlove interest who\u2019s going to make him happy?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n God I hope so. [Laughs]. That poor guy. I keep saying he\nhas to a) find somebody his own age, and b) someone who is not Emma or Sutton.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Who do you think\nEmma should end up with? Ethan or Thayer?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n I would say Ethan. I know they came together a little bit\nunconventionally, but I would definitely say they both have a great\nrelationship. Emma and Thayer are more\u2014they\u2019re better friends.<\/p>\n\n\n\n What has been the\nmost challenging part of playing both Emma and Sutton for you, and who do you\nlove playing the most?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Recently I\u2019ve really loved playing Sutton because she\u2019s\nbeen a real, real trip and she\u2019s been a blast to play. It\u2019s challenging as far\nas the hour as really long\u2014like 15-hour days. If, on the call sheet, it says I\nhave three scenes, it really means six if I\u2019m Emma and Sutton in a scene\nbecause I have to do both sides. That just gets challenging. Since I\u2019ve been\ndoing this now for six, seven months, I\u2019ve really been able to differentiate\nthe characters a lot more easily and they\u2019ve come to me a little quicker. In\nthe beginning it was a little bit more challenging.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Has there been any\nnews on a Season 2 pick up?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Thank you. There\u2019s been a lot of positive news floating\naround about a pickup. We\u2019re just kind of waiting for the official news. The\nratings have been great and we\u2019ve been doing really well, and it\u2019s a\nwell-received show, which we\u2019re all very proud of. We\u2019re just waiting on the\nnetwork and hoping they see everything we see in the show, but we\u2019re excited\nfor Season 2 and are ready to get back to Austin [to film].<\/p>\n\n\n\n So, do you have a\nfavorite scene you shot this season or a memory that really sticks out in your\nmind from filming?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Gosh, there are a lot of good memories these last couple months.\nWow. [Laughs] That\u2019s a tough one. Everybody is so fun to work with. There were\nsome really good trailer scenes that I loved. I love the trailer. That\u2019s one of\nmy favorite sets. Just being in Austin and being with that group of people has\nbeen a really fun time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Any message you\nwant to send out to \u201cThe Lying Game\u201d fans out there?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Just to watch the finale on Monday night. It\u2019s going to\nbe a good one. It\u2019s really great. I haven\u2019t seen the finished product yet but I\u2019ve\nheard it\u2019s fantastic and it\u2019s a great episode.
